Ahmad Rashed

Mr. Ahmad Rashed is an Egyptian qualified attorney with more than twelve years of experience in handling complex and cross-border litigation in commercial, corporate, taxes, real estate, and employment matters. Ahmad is frequently engaged in representing top-tier international companies from various industries and business sectors in high-value claims and disputes.

His recent work includes: successfully defending an international pharmaceutical company by securing the dismissal of a complex legal action which involved more than 20 separate lawsuits with the claim for a compensation of USD$ 125 million and blockage of importation of the client’s product into the Egyptian market, successfully defending a major industrial company in a collective labour dispute filed by 550 employees through obtaining a final binding judgment which confirmed the dismissal for all the employees claims, advising a high-profile construction company in an arbitration governed by Egyptian law before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris in a dispute valued USD$ 19 million arising from an EPC contract, obtaining a favorable judgment from the court of cassation which upheld the validity of a unilateral arbitration clause in an on-going dispute valued EGP 45 million, successfully obtaining a favorable final judgment for a Russian investor against a major real estate developer which confirmed the client’s entitlement for an amount of EGP 16 million plus interest, successfully represented an international construction company in a tax dispute for EGP 180 million against the Egyptian Tax Authority, successfully represented a foreign government in recovering the possession of an abandoned high-value real estate in Cairo and annulling all forged sale contracts that concerns the same real estate, successfully representing a major oil and gas company in securing the final dismissal of several compensation claims filed by more than 150 claimants with the request for a compensation of EGP 15 million for an alleged damages suffered an alleged environmental violations, advising an international financial institution regarding the collection of USD$ 65 million from an Egyptian borrower.

Ahmad has broad experience in advising clients in all aspects that concerns commercial, distribution, and agency agreements, especially in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Ahmad also provides clients with a wide range of legal advice on corporate, trade regulations, competition, taxes, and employment-related matters, and he assists our aviation team in advising clients in connection to the lease, sale, registration, and de-registration of aircraft in Egypt.
